I am reading a book given to me by a wonderful friend of mine who is serving as a missionary in Africa. The book, The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian has a lot of good prayer points for a wife to pray over her husband. I am not done with the book, and I am not writing in an effort to promote it, rather, her prayer points got me thinking again about having a daily prayer focus for my husband, my kids, and other important things in my life.
My favorite prayer points come from Monica Andrews at Daily Dwelling. She has created beautiful art to go along with the prayer points, and they would be great to print and put into a prayer journal if you are into that, but she only has twenty points. So, if you do one point a day, in the typical month you would repeat the first ten points on days 21-30 in the month, or maybe do two points a day on those days. Why not instead have thirty prayer points? Omartian has 31 listed prayer points in her book, but I would feel like that 31st point would often get left behind.
Tonight I was working on prayer points for my three girls. I was looking at other articles and their suggestions as a springboard, and it seems that they don't all apply at the age that my children are (4, 2, 1), so it sure seems like prayer points sure be personally developed. Some things should always be prayed for (faith, patience, health, protection, peace, etc.), but other things are according to season. However, it doesn't really make sense to pray for an infant to have discernment or help with their words.
Thinking on all these things, I came up with the following for my girls at this stage. Although, for my oldest I will also need to add school and I will surely have to have multiple lists at certain points in time as they will be at somewhat different stages.

1. Faith and/or salvation
2. Joy
3. Future Spouse
4. Self-control
